ABOTA-CO is sad to announce the death of ABOTA Member Thomas J. Tomazin. Tom passed away on Friday evening after a long illness.
Tom had many honors. A long-time member and board member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Tom received the Kenneth Norm Kripke Lifetime Achievement Award from CTLA in 2016.
Active in the Arapahoe County Bar Association, Tom served in various leadership roles for the Association, including President. The Association recognized Tom with the Martin P. Miller Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
In 2019 Tom was admitted to our Colorado Chapter of ABOTA. He immediately got to work for ABOTA-CO, joining the "Civility Matters" program for presentation to students and faculty at CU Law and the Sturm.
Tom received a Bachelor’s Degree in finance from the University of Colorado Boulder, and earned his law degree from the DU College of Law. He was admitted to practice in Colorado on October 16, 1974.
A Colorado native, Tom lent his lovely baritone voice initially to radio. But was then captured by the vision of the courtroom where he excelled.
More to follow as his family and friends will be called to gather and celebrate Tom's remarkable life.
Feel free to leave a comment with your memories of Tom.
